How I travel…
Just getting the bags ready for the European ‘Mystery Show’ on Thursday.
We’ve been asked this in the past, so when one of my Members jogged my memory the other day about the luggage I use, I thought I’d give you the full spiel
So here it is -
My @Teradek Encoder fits snuggly into the (heavy with stickers 😂) wheelie case with my (Air Travel cleared) V-Locks.
The @TARIONofficial backpack, with Batteries/Power Bank (within International limits 😉) leads, camera, headset etc, connects to the extension handle of the wheelie case for an easy airport walk
Both of these items are Carry-On for safety and my own handling 😉
Everything else, including the Tripod/Fluid Head, which alone weighs 5kg! Shoes, clothing, spare leads, panning arm etc etc go into my @OGIOint ROG 9800 - WITH NO ELECTRONICS!
One of the main reasons for finding/choosing the Ogio was that the interior dimensions allow me to fit the Tripod in! They also had great online feedback 😉
But it’s gone way beyond expectations! I’ve used this very bag since 2020! It’s proper tough 💪🏻 God knows how many miles it’s travelled - and all through the crazy handling and infrastructure of airports around the world! It usually weighs-in between 25 & 30KG depending on seasonal wear like freezing Alaska, Warm clothing, big boots to just shorts and tees in Miami. Always pack waterproof stuff though, not just for me but for the equipment.
The wheels on the bag are real tough with super strong bearings and hubs. The outer hard impact plastic structure has been put to the ultimate test! It’s pretty waterproof, and the material is super, super tough and the branding looks cool. With all the years of travel - not a single tear.
I’d been trying/ looking at different bags from way back in 2016 and when this one came to my attention in 2020, nothing else came close. Here’s to the next five years - challenge accepted 👍🏻
